Waves of thunderstorms, heavy rain Tuesday and Wednesday

A stalled out frontal boundary remains draped over the region with waves of atmospheric energy passing along the front bringing waves of rain and thunder. This pattern will continue today and tomorrow, interacting with a warm and humid air mass. Occasional severe thunderstorms and flash flooding will be possible, especially but not exclusively across the southern half of the region. Thursday will be a day of transition as the front moves south and less humid, more tranquil weather settles in. A couple showers may be possible on Sunday, but most of the Labor Day Weekend is looking pleasant, albeit a touch on the cooler side.… Read More

Some afternoon, evening storms today, then a few dry days

A small disturbance will bring scattered showers and storms this afternoon and early evening, but high pressure should then take over, keeping the area mostly dry into the weekend. Heavy rain and perhaps some gusty winds could accompany any storms that manage to pop up, but many areas may end up dry through the afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 70s with high humidity with dewpoints around 70. Monday evening may also have some scattered showers or storms early on before activity wanes during the overnight.… Read More

It will be very humid with dewpoints into the low 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the low and mid 80s, but some heat index values may break 90 degrees. Winds, outside of any thunderstorms, will be light from the southwest. A warm and muggy night is expected with lows around 70.… Read More

Last (mostly) dry day before another unsettled stretch

The majority of the region will stray dry on Wednesday, but showers and storms will be likely Thursday and Friday. Stray showers will persist through the weekend and into early next week, but at least that rain will be spotty and light. It will be warm and muggy through the weekend until a cold front sometime around next Tuesday ushers in a cooler, less humid pattern.… Read More
