A cold front will bring showers this morning and steadier afternoon rain to the Finger Lakes on Sunday.

Friday and Saturday will have some great late summer weather in the Finger Lakes before a chance for much needed rain on Sunday.

After a near-miss on Tuesday, the weather will settle down in the Finger Lakes for a few days.

While still uncertain, there is at least a chance for significant severe weather in parts of the Finger Lakes on Tuesday, including the potential for tornadoes.

Temperatures will quickly rise Saturday morning before thunderstorms develop this afternoon.

Rain will be likely this weekend, especially during Friday and Saturday afternoon, when thunderstorms with heavy downpours are possible.

A very moist atmosphere will remain in place through the weekend, leading to more downpours such as those early Wednesday morning.

The boundaries on the drought map changed little this week, but the actual rainfall deficits got worse this week.

Temperatures will increase on the back side of high pressure over the next few days.

Some widespread rain Saturday afternoon could provide some short term drought relief.
