The weather has been very unstable during this past week due to the battle of cold and warm that set up along a stalled out frontal boundary.

A very active weather pattern continues across much of the eastern half of the nation as a strong warm and cold air-masses collide.

A strong front is stalled out just south of the Great Lakes, separating cooler air to its north and some very mild air to its south.

A classic spring time battle between warm and cold air will play out this week over our region.

Another mild day is in store for the Finger Lakes, but the weather will quickly change tonight due to a strong area of low pressure.

A warm front is pushing through the Finger Lakes this morning, finally ushering in a long awaited taste of spring.

A clipper system is diving southeast across Pennsylvania, keeping most of its snow to the south of the Finger Lakes.

The Finger Lakes will experience a few days of active weather to close out the work-week, with both rain and accumulating snow in the forecast.

An area of low pressure will move across the Mid-Atlantic on Friday, spreading light snow into the southern parts of the Finger Lakes.

The vast majority of the Finger Lakes will be quiet today, with a mix of sun and clouds. For a 10-20 mile wide stripe running roughly along Route 38, it might as well be mid-winter all over again.

Temperatures will drop throughout the day today as cold air floods into the region from the north. Precipitation will primarily be a morning problem, with rain and a few snow showers.

A couple of morning flurries will be possible today, but it is a small price to pay for the rest of today’s weather.
