Scattered afternoon thunderstorms today, but a dry weekend awaits

Scattered thunderstorms, some strong to severe, are likely this afternoon. The eastern half of the region has a higher threat from thunderstorms than areas further west. This activity should clear out late in the afternoon, and skies should become partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight for the lunar eclipse. A stray shower cannot be ruled out Friday, but otherwise it should be dry through the weekend. A warm, muggy, and unsettled week is ahead next week, though the fine details of when and how much rain will fall remain unclear.… Read More
